Danube - a great Slovak variety

The Danube  is a new variety which have their quality gained immediately a wide range of supporters. It gives a dark red wine, with a distinctive taste fullness. The taste and smell, see tones of cherries, which extend up to a very interesting chocolate tones. Tannins are very soft. Variety Danube comes from the triple crossing of varieties (Muscat Bouchet Oporto x) x St. Laurent. Was recognized in 1997. It is grown only marginally in the country and in the country. Slovakia constitutes 0.024% of vineyards.


Danube grapes are often harvested at higher levels attributive. On average, they achieved very good phenolic ripeness. The grapes are then treated by the method of prolonged maceration and makrooxidáciou mikrooxidáciou. It is advisable to aging wine in oak barrels. Danube wine varieties have a strong fruity character and is therefore less appropriate use of oak barrels. The Danube is a high quality variety.
